Matt has a diverse litigation practice, teaming with other GDHM lawyers to represent both defendants and plaintiffs in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration. Matt’s experience covers a variety of subject areas including: complex business disputes (ranging from breach of contract to fraud to fiduciary duty disputes), intellectual property disputes, and legal malpractice defense.

- An Austin-based company’s founder, president, and shareholder representative in a federal court lawsuit and arbitration involving disputed entitlement to funds in escrow and allegations of fraud asserted by the Fortune 500 company that acquired his company.
- A real estate investment partnership in federal court in a dispute with a lending institution over a disputed prepayment penalty in connection with a promissory note.
- A patent holder in a federal court lawsuit seeking damages for patent and trade dress infringement and for unfair competition and tortious interference with contract from a business competitor.
- A major telecommunications carrier in federal and state lawsuits.
- A major Texas-based workers’ compensation carrier in state administrative proceedings and state court lawsuits, in which the validity and interpretation of statutory and regulatory provisions was at issue.
- Lawyers and law firms sued for legal malpractice in Texas state court.
