Chrys Dougherty celebrates 50 years with the American Law Institute
GDHM founder J. Chrys Dougherty's 50th year as a member of the American Law Institute will be celebrated at a luncheon in Washington, D.C. on May 19, 2009.
Admitted to the bar in 1940, Chrys practiced Estate Planning, Probate and Tax Law for more than sixty years. He continues to be active in the community and pro bono projects, including serving as Chair Emeritus on the Texas Appleseed board of directors.
The American Law Institute was founded in 1923 following a study by a group of prominent American judges, lawyers, and teachers, who sought to address the uncertain and complex nature of early 20th-century American law. This unique organization is dedicated to legal research and reform. Other Graves Dougherty members of The American Law Institute are John Harmon, Bob Hearon, Mike McKetta, Pete Schenkkan, Ben Vaughan, Jim Williams and Rick Yeomans.
