Community Leadership
“Working with community organizations is a constant reminder that what we do is not ultimately just about us and our success. It’s about the world we all live in and what we can do to make it a better place for everyone.” Clarke Heidrick, Shareholder
San Juan Diego Catholic High School Corporate Work Study Program
Graves Dougherty was one of the first businesses to sign on as a Corporate Partner for an innovative work-study program that gives students at Austin's San Juan Diego Catholic High School an opportunity to receive real-world experience in a business setting. Graves Dougherty has employed students every year since 2002. The program complements the students' education process and enables them to earn money towards their school tuition.
United Way Capital Area
Each year, the firm participates in the United Way giving. For several years, Graves Dougherty and its employees contributed more than any other area law firm to the United Way Capital Campaign. In 2006, Graves Dougherty was one of three Central Texas companies to be honored for an “Outstanding Leadership Giving Campaign.”
Meals On Wheels and More
The firm has a group of employees that has been part of the noon-time meal delivery program for Meals on Wheels and More since 1998.
Graves Dougherty Singers
Each year in December, a group of attorneys and staff known as the Graves Dougherty Singers travel to area retirement homes, homeless shelters and pre-schools treating audiences to special holiday music performances.
Individual Charitable Contributions
The firm has a matching program in place to match funds given by staff and lawyers to non-profit organizations of the employee’s choice.
